Chair’s report to Council on the Council Year 2005-6

Campbell Park Parish Council can take great pride in its work during 2005/06.  The contribution of the Parish Council is beginning to make a difference to the lives, amenities and opportunities of our residents.

There is still considerable work to be done.  We serve an extremely diverse community, one that crosses a huge range of health, education, financial status and aspiration.

We have 20-plus different ethnic groupings in the Parish and it is a challenge to us to serve all sections of our community fairly.  There are still in the Parish pockets of deprivation which we will, together with our staff and many partners, tackle with energy and enthusiasm. We are nearing the completion of a 3 year strategic plan which will enable us, in partnership, to do much more to address the needs and issues of our community.

I must, in this short foreword, pay tribute to all members and staff of the Parish Council.  Without their perseverance, time and effort, nothing would have been possible.

Tribute must also be paid to our friends in the community, statutory, voluntary and private sector, who have helped in our work in the past year.

This to us is a very special area and we will continue to serve it with the enthusiasm and affection it merits.

Sincerely

Isabella Fraser

Chairman of Council 2005/06
