TERMS OF REFERENCE

1.       At the first meeting of the committee after the Annual General Meeting of Council the committee shall review the Environmental Policy of Campbell Park Parish Council and review the Terms of Reference of the Environment and Allotments Committee and make appropriate recommendations to Council.

 

2.       To oversee the maintenance and management of the buildings of the Parish Council, excluding the Parish Office.

 

3.       To oversee the maintenance and management of Council allotments.

 

4.       To oversee the maintenance and management of the Woolstone Pond.

 

5.       To promote community ownership of public open spaces.

 

6.       To promote good quality Street Scene in all communities within the Parish.

 

7.       To promote re-cycling and/or help enforce the proper disposal of household and other waste within the Parish boundary in accordance with the policies of Milton Keynes Council.

 

8.       To identify and propose to Council environmental projects to be done either alone or in partnership with other agencies.

 

9.       To oversee completion of such projects.

 

10.     To be responsible for ensuring that any work in the Environment portfolio proposed to be undertaken be fully costed and the costs agreed by Council before work commences and to satisfy Council that all appropriate health and safety legislation is adhered to.

 

11.     To identify and recommend to Council via the Finance and Administration Committee bids to the Milton Keynes Council’s Parish Partnership Fund;

to the Milton Keynes Council’s Parish Residential Parking Fund;  to the Local Agenda 21 Environmental Grants Fund;  and any other external sources of funding for matters within the remit of the committee.

 

12.     To be responsible for all Community Safety matters concerning the Council including such matters as traffic management and environmental crime.

 

13.     To be responsible for the Council’s participation in Neighbourhood Action Group (NAG) meetings arranging for Council views to be represented at them and for reports back to committee and Council subject to the rules of the NAG.

 

14.     To promote Alcohol Free Zones within the Parish.
