TERMS OF REFERENCE
1. In general to oversee all actions by Parish Council Members and/or Officers relating to community action within the Parish and, in particular
2. To promote community safety to schools, children and parents within the Parish
3. To liaise with residents to ascertain community needs and make appropriate recommendations to Council.
4. To identify partner organisations with whom the Parish could work to deliver community activities in line with the Council’s policies.
5. To recommend to Council subjects for “Spotlight” events either with the Council working in partnership with the REC or working alone.
6. To be responsible for ensuring that any work in the Community Action portfolio proposed to be undertaken, be fully costed and agreed before work commences.
7. To identify and recommend to Council, via the Finance and Administration Committee, any bids to any appropriate funding stream for financial support for community activities.
8. To prepare, every year, a draft budget covering all Community Action expenditure, for submission to the Finance and Administration Committee, and thence to Council.
9. To develop and recommend to Council policies relating to the areas of the committee’s responsibility
10. To review the Terms of Reference of the Community Action Committee at the first meeting of the Committee after the Annual General Meeting of Council and make appropriate recommendations to Council.
