Quality Council

During 2008 Campbell Park Parish Council will apply to become a Quality Parish Council.  This is a scheme promoted by the Government to acknowledge councils which are able to demonstrate that they are representative of, and actively engage with, all parts of the community and are properly managed.

To qualify a council has to comply with a number of  "tests" namely:-

.  80% of Councillors must have been elected

.  the Clerk must be qualified (the Certificate in Local Council Administration or equivalent)

.  the Council must have adopted a local Code of Conduct

.  the council must meet at least 6 times a year

.  an Annual Report must be produced

.  there must be provision of regular information on Parish Council activities to residents

.  properly prepared and audited accounts must be produced.

Becoming a Quality Parish Council will enable CPPC to take on a greater range of activities for the benefit of residents including, possibly, taking on activities on behalf of, or instead of, Milton Keynes Council
